10th August 2003 Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Bosco Gubazire was ordained priest at Kabale, Uganda, by the Rt. Rev. Bishop Callist Rubaramira, the successor of Bishop Robert Gay, MAfr.
It was a great day of joy for all. Fr. Gubazire is the 2nd Missionary of Africa from Kabale Diocese. The first is Fr. Elias Mwebembezi (41) (on the first photo greeting the bishop before mass),who came from Gitega in Burundi. Fr. Elias has a special apostolate among the Batwa.
The parents of Fr. Gubazire brought their son to the ordaining bishop and to the regional superior of the Missionaries of Africa and gave him to the Church.
At the end of mass the bishop and the christians of Kabale sent Fr. Gubazire out to his mission in Mocambique, giving him a candle and a bible. (1st photo)
There was a lot of joy and happiness of the big congration, also on the following day at Fr. Bonaventure's first mass at his parents home.
The only missionary of Africa left in Kabale diocese is Fr. George Schindler (81) as parish priest in Mutolere parish, since bishop Robert Gay resigned May 10th and went for a well deserved holiday in Canada.
