80th Birthday of Fr. Joe Kamya at Lourdel House

On the 18th April 2008, we celebrated in style the 80th Birthday of Fr. Joe Kamya at Lourdel House.
He is residing at Nalukulongo Home for the Elderly. He is comforting the people there and being looked after by the Samaritan Sisters. He looks very well and presided the mass himself. He was assisted by his friend Bishop Baharagate Emeritus and Fr. Provincial Richard Nnyombi. After the liturgical celebration in the chapel, we had a great meal prepared by our Sisters of O.L. of Fatima.

NALUKULONGO is below Rubaga. When Lourdel and Amans returned to Uganda in 1885 and the Kabaka offered them a property near to his residence, Lourdel preferred one that was more accessible to all population. This was Nalukulongo. 800 catechumens were overjoyed at the return of Mapera and his companions.
Fr. Roland Champagne built a nice residence there for Fr. Kamya and others to follow.
