The pictures depict the feast day the people of Lubwe prepared for the Missionaries of Africa, to remember on the 28th of July that it was 100 years ago that the first missionaries arrived in a village called Kalanda, near the Royal enclosure of Chief Chitembo. After three years they left this place by boat and went to a place where there was more room for the rearing of cows. The boat trip took a bit more than an hour.
