Announcement of the death and funeral arrangements of

FR. GHISLAIN MULUMBU NDUMBA M. Afr.

It is with deep regret and sadness that we, the community of Missionaries of Africa living and working in Nairobi, write to inform you of the death of our confrere, Fr. Ghislain MULUMBU, a Congolese, who has been working in Tizi-Ouzou, Algeria, since his ordination in 2004. He returned to his home in Kasongo Diocese (DRC) for holidays in June and was due to leave early in September for studies at Dar Comboni in Cairo. However, during his leave he fell ill and had to be admitted to hospital in Bukavu where he spent three weeks. He was found to have acute pancreatitis. His condition deteriorated and he was transported to Nairobi on September 7th. He was admitted to Karen Hospital where, despite receiving the best treatment possible, he died of multiple organ failure on the evening of Wednesday, September 20th. He was 36 years old.

The funeral arrangements for Fr. Ghislain are as follows:

Friday, September 29th

" 6.00pm Reception of the body at the Missionaries of Africa Formation House, Balozi Estate, South B, followed by a Eucharistic Celebration and a Prayer Vigil.

Saturday, September 30th

" 8.00am Prayer of the Office for the Dead in the Formation House chapel

" 8.30am Transfer of the body to Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish Church, South B.

" 9.00am Funeral Mass.

" 11.00am Burial at St. Austin's Parish, Lavington.

We ask your prayers for the repose of the soul of Fr. Ghislain.

C'est avec un profond regret et remplis de tristesse que nous, la communauté de Missionnaires d'Afrique vivant et travaillant à Nairobi, vous informons de la mort de notre confrere, Fr. Ghislain MULUMBU, Congolais, qui a travaillé à Tizi-Ouzou en Algérie depuis son ordination en 2004. Il est revenu chez lui dans le Diocèse de Kasongo (RDC) pour des vacances en juin dernier et il devait se rendre au Caire au début de septembre pour des études à "Dar Comboni" . Cependant, il est tombé mal durant ce temps et a dû être admis à l'hôpital de Bukavu où il a passé trois semaines. On a diagnostiqué une pancréatite aiguë. Sa condition s'est détériorée et il a été transporté à Nairobi le 7 septembre. Il a été admis à "Karen Hospital" où, bien qu'il ait reçu le meilleur traitement possible, il est mort suite à l'arrêt de plusieurs organes vitaux, le soir du mercredi 20 septembre. Il avait 36 ans.

Les Funérailles du Père Ghislain seront célébrées comme suit :

Vendredi 29 Septembre

18 h.00 : Accueil de la dépouille mortelle à la Maison de Formation des Missionnaires d'Afrique, Balozi Estate, South B, suivi de la Célébration Eucharistique et de la Prière des Vigiles.

Samedi 30, Septembre

8h00: Prière de l'Office des Morts à la Chapelle de la Maison de Formation

8h00 :Transfert de la dépouille mortelle à la Paroisse "Our Lady Queen of Peace , South B.

9h00 : Messe.

11h00 : Enterrement à la Paroisse St. Austin, Lavington.
