Presbyteral Ordination of Felix Drani, M. Afr.

It took place on September 1 st in his home Parish, Offude, Arua Diocese in West Nile. It was presided over by the Ordinary of Arua, Bishop Frederick Drandua, accompanied by some 70 concelebrants, so rich is the Diocese in vocations; this Diocese has already given a good number of missionaries. The liturgy was conducted in the local language, Lugbara, a Sudanese language similar to Madi, except for the ordination rite which was
in English.

The ceremony went very smoothly and was over in two hours time. It was followed by the usual speeches, some background songs and dances, and an excellent meal. The many people who attended the ceremony expressed their great joy for the honour of having the first M. Afr. from their new Parish. The weather was clement: no rain during the whole day. In the evening, on their way back to Arua (35 kilometers to the south), some cars got stuck in the mud due to a heavy shower on very bad roads. We were told that this route is now the only road to reach Juba! The Missionaries of Africa were represented by a good number of members, the Provincial Richard Nnyombi and
other Fathers as well as our four stagiaires from Burkina, Ethiopia and the Philipines.
Felix is appointed to Mali.
